LEGION OF ECLIPSE TEST DRIVE.

"Your characters is forcibly recruited into the Legion of the Eclipse, a multiversal legion of supervillains. They've had their eye on you for a while, and now, they'd like to formally invite you to join them!

...The issue is that there are a great deal of you, and the Legion is a very exclusive club. So, you're offered a challenge: if you wish to make it into the legion, you must commit murder or avoid being murdered. But you can do that, can't you? You're a villain, after all!"

This is the official test drive for Legion of Eclipse, a villain-only murdergame. Characters who don't fit this criteria might be PMed by the mod and asked to remove their prompts, for consistency purposes. This test drive will remain open until the game itself opens, and comments from this may be used as part of your murdersheet. Please list your character's name and canon in your header, and please feel free to consult our FAQ if you have any questions. Reserves open on April 12th.

You may use your own prompts, or the example ones below:

1 - Meticulous Planning
Despite whatever plots and schemes you might have had going before, you will find yourself waking up here. The room's architecture is stunning, and captures the aesthetic of 1950's sci-fi futurism. Only problem is...is that you don't recognize it. Once you leave, you'll find that the rest of the place reflects that same aesthetic - and judging by the heat and that wall of lava that you can't reach, you're in a volcano. Fortunately for you, it seems as though everyone else here is just as confused...especially by the fact that the terminals scattered throughout the building seem to have comprehensive information on all of you.

The monitors mounted on the walls of just about every room of the building display the message "INFORMATION AT 12PM." Guess you're stuck until then.

2 - (We'll Have Food)
You'll find that despite your hosts' threats, it gets...rather boring around here. Fortunately, there is plenty to do. The kitchens are well-stocked with just about every food you can imagine, made to order on demand from a similar set of kiosks. Other features of The Volcano Lair include a room filled with sharks, a vehicle hanger filled with inoperable mechas and hovercars, a power plant, a fully-stocked bar, a music room, and a war room consisting of a very large table...and nothing else.

Feel free to add your own rooms in your prompts, and if we like them, you might just seem them in-game.

3 - Tenacity Spanning
Another week has gone by, and as per your hosts' threats, they've decided to release the secrets of everyone still alive. Each of the monitors in the building will display footage of you, revealing both devastating secrets and what exactly you were up to in your homeworld. If you haven't told everyone about this stuff yet, now's the time to do so.

4 - (We Repeat, Endless Meat)
Like it or not, they'll have their murders. You're either going to find a body, or you're going to be a body. Or, if you play your cards right, perhaps you'll be the one committing murder to begin with...any way you slice it, the game is afoot. Prepare yourself and react accordingly.

5 - Decades Of Denial

Trials are particularly devastating. You're sat across a large table with enough seats for all twenty of you, made to debate and accuse each other. Perhaps this could be your time to twist things in your favor, if you're so inclined...

6 - Is Simply Why I'll--
Wild card prompt. Go nuts.
vilescience: (things I've never seen before)

For one, this machine is somehow able to construct better, more edible food than my own previous experiments, and I plan on reverse-engineering this technology for VILE's purposes. But, other than that, I believe the information is kept on a database, which means it must have access to communication in some way or another. Thus, I want to utilize that to attempt to watch my favorite streams.

[She taps at the screen with frustration, then directs her attention back to a keyboard hooked up to the machine itself. She starts typing furiously, then frowns and looks back up at the screen.]

Tch. If I had my own devices, this blasted machine would have already been hacked. Kick the machine, see if it does anything.
wrenches: (what even)

meticulous planning

[personal profile] wrenches 2019-03-28 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Wrench is currently having a look at all the profiles himself and really someone having his information and what looks like a mugshot isn't that out of the norm for him. He is a criminal after all. Doesn't explain what's going on though.

Nor does it explain the guy in all black with a weird bucket on his head that Wrench notices out of the corner of his eye. The bucket helmet thing is definitely why he doesn't realize he's being spoken to, can't see any lips moving plus he can't hear. So Wrench just gives him a weird look, shrugging as if to ask, "What?".

Got a problem buddy?]
vilescience: (plastic tubes and pots and pans)

[Dr. Bellum doesn't give a shit, she's worked with weirder people and can't really judge Rita for having a Taste of metal. She chuckles darkly, crossing her arms.]

If that is what appeals to you, I would suppose so.

[Her grin widens ever so slightly.]

But why settle for something so messy and barbaric? Wouldn't it be more interesting to, say, subject them to increasingly powerful shocks of electricity, or give them untested experimental new chemicals to observe the effects on them? It would be of great value to the scientific community, as well.

Lore | Star Trek: The Next Generation

[personal profile] offorgotten 2019-03-28 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
[3]

[Lore had been pretty excited to see which of his many crimes and transgressions they would pick-- there were just so many good ones!-- and, well, he definitely wasn't disappointed!

he's standing in front of the monitor in the hall, arms crossed, grinning slightly. the screen shows Lore-- dressed in some sort of military-type uniform-- throwing an elderly man bodily across a laboratory, sending him crashing into a table, glass shattering...]

Is there any way I could get the holo of that? I'd just love to be able to watch that again. And again.

[4]

Biological lifeforms are fragile little things, aren't they? [just. nudges the corpse with his foot. ew. it's bleeding. what kind of nerd bleeds.] Obviously, one of the humans did this one. I wouldn't have left anything to find.

(or idk make something else up)

[personal profile] vilescience 2019-03-28 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Hey, Liam. You'll find a rather short scientist trying to peer over your shoulder at the rap sheet you're looking at, which happens to list off the "achievements" of a Dr. Saira Bellum.

The things that probably leap out most to him is that she's one of the chief board members and chief of science of an imports-exports company called VILE (though no explanation on the acronym is given), she teaches at a school for thieves, and that she has several hundred war crimes under her belt. The most recent one seems to say something about trying to cause a worldwide hunger crisis by using genetically-modified spores to eat rice crops.]

Ah, yes. Although my fellow VILE members are more interested in obtaining valuable imports, I was tasked with managing more the business side of things. Not that I mind very much--a perk is that I can allocate as many funds as I would like towards my own research that benefits the overall company.

[Why, yes, she's trying to assert herself as one of the top villains in this place without even realizing why she's here. She assumes this was just a board meeting she organized and then forgot about.]

[A brief glance doesn't leave him impressed, but this... person is still the closest sentient life form he can see, and thus the closest source of possible information. He also is ignoring him.

Vader looms - he looms very effectively.]

I asked you a question. I am not in the habit of repeating myself.
wrenches: (listen to me you trash)

[personal profile] wrenches 2019-03-28 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Can he really loom when they're the same height though? Can he? Can he? The cape does make him a little scary, a smidge, but honestly after seeing all the pictures of the others apparently here, this guy is one of the lesser ridiculous looking idiots here.

This guy trying to get up in his face and act big and tough isn't impressing him though. Wrench takes in... everything, glancing down then up looking unamused. His hands come up again, moving in quick motions, at the start pointing at the guy before he just raises a brow at him, as if to say now what.

Wrench may have signed "Your costume is dumb." at him. Maybe. Definitely.]

[personal profile] lizardgurl4sale 2019-03-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
That's it? You don't wanna go call your evil superiors or anything?

[Because that's what you should be doing, nerd.]

Why don't you kick it, if you're so smart?
endoftheuniverse: (You fucked it up.)

[personal profile] endoftheuniverse 2019-03-28 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Now here's a history that is unquestionably monstrous. Liam's expression hardens as he reads it, unsympathetic to pure evil - in particular, he was quite intimate with the pain of starvation, as well as how it felt to be utterly helpless in the face of a megacorporation. In a moment of vanity, he rages against the fact that he is being compared- however indirectly- to a person like this. After all, there was a big difference between cruel, unfeeling capitalism and the completely justifiable genocide of a planet... right? ...Regardless, he rounds on her, expression hard:]

Dr. Bellum, I presume?

[There's no warmth in his greeting, and he won't bother to offer to shake her hand. Trying to fit in with these people wasn't Liam's game, at the same time, but he knew better than to cut himself off from them entirely. Going in guns-blazing without all of the facts did not suit him. His tone is dry and irreverent, though his words leave some room for ambiguity:]

Exactly the person I'd been hoping to find. Please, do tell me more about this... "VILE", and your research.
vilescience: (my intentions?)

[personal profile] vilescience 2019-03-28 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Dr. Bellum pauses to turn and stare at Demencia, raising an eyebrow.]

Young lady, I do not have evil superiors because I am my own evil superior. I may work with a team of villains, but none of us hold more or less power over each other. The greatest obstacle that opposes all evil plans is miscommunication. And having inbalance of power between co-conspiritors.

[She turns right back to her keyboard and gets back to typing.]

Please. I do not bother myself with such things.

Just...watch-chiiing.

[Watching how his suit works. How he tinkers. The tin man was quite the intriguing figure, and The Joker couldn’t quite place why.

Maybe there was something uncomfortably familiar about him. Which is why he hungrily watches Vader work, sharp eyes taking in the visage.]

I didn’t know this was, ah...a private arrrea.

You don't know that-!

[Her lip curls up in a snarl, and she takes a step forward, bristling.]

They could be here- why would I be the only one stolen away? And I will find my way back.

[... Somehow.]

Doesn't everyone always "have their reasons?"

[COOL MOTIVE still mass murder]

I must say-- and, trust me, I'm not the type to admit it when I'm bested by a human-- your planetary genocide looks much more fun than mine was. [beat] Of course, I enjoyed mine immensely, but yours looks like it had such exquisitely painful deaths!

No, not particularly.

[He tries to speak with a calm, soothing tone that conceals the more malicious nature hidden underneath.]

I'm an educator, or, well, former at least. I suppose I can't help but take interest in things of this nature.

No, uh...no. I can - [tongue click] not. Nope.

[Was seeing this dude in griseled paint and a purple suit the most comforting sight to those just waking up? No. Did he particularly care? No. He sort of cocks his head at Osborn like a dog, taking in his whole visage.]

Good taste.

[The Joker is akin to something from the shadows, seeming to maintain presence and awareness of things at all times, slipping in and out of rooms at random. He's not exactly the most social of people, seemingly only existing to discomfort others at the best of times.

But knives...those are something he's interested in. He knows what Wrench has done, and that in and of itself has his interest.]

Didn't do much for him, I, uh, imagine. [He casually rolls his eyes at the body.]

I will speak to whoever I want HOWEVER I want!

[It almost seems as though he's going to throw a childish stomping tantrum right then and there. But that question takes his edge off...just a bit. Anything to brag.]

Oh-ho! Why, those are my royal icons! Surely you recognize reptilian royalty when you see it!

[behind the mask, the ex-professor belatedly remembers a few common traits about animals - such as that whole staring thing. He holds up a hand, attempting to be pacifying, because if nothing else it...seems to have some sort of human-level intelligence?]

I...don't know.

[his kingdom for his microbots. Why doesn't he have his microbots.]
pushtheboundaries: (you try to keep your secrets)

[personal profile] pushtheboundaries 2019-03-28 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's another movement this time, which implies something more than a brief glance up. Educator? For a long moment, those yellow eyes simply stare at Walter - and then look back down]

What did you teach?
pushtheboundaries: (and any time tomorrow)

[personal profile] pushtheboundaries 2019-03-28 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Must not have made the news.

[In San Fransokyo, at least. Someone's unimpressed.]

[Someone may have already laid an unspoken claim to the workshop. Someone may be kind of annoyed that someone else is there when he plans to use it in solitude.

Someone may also be smart enough - having seen some of the other figure's abilities demonstrated on another person or two - not to announce either of those aloud. Instead, Yokai tilts his head slightly, just on the line of deferential before gesturing at one of the tools Vader has on his table.]

They seem to have limited the supplies.

[Share the welder, nerd.]

[Heh. This gets him to smirk.]

High school-level chemistry. Not...exactly the most glamorous of professions, I know. I admit I was a bit overqualified.
